How To Use Your Time For Goals?

"Time is the biggest asset we have!" is an obvious and one of the popular facts. The universe have been contributing to the importance of time and its use since the very beginning. Popularities gained by people in the history and present time is often attributed to dedicating their time and focus on the useful things that mattered to them rather than starving for it in the first place. It is obvious anywhere to listen that time is important, we should use our time carefully, this and that. But when it comes for managing the time, we just can't apply those advices for our time like an app that can be downloaded and used in any mobile. 

The manage & utilize of time is far more significant than it seems. Before you step further on managing time and routine, the first thing which is important is you should have a reason for it. For example, you should have some priorities or a goals for investing your time into. Because just as it's no use to cook if no one is hungry, in the same way your time management to the tasks might not generate that impactful result if the tasks you are prioritizing are not sure to be intrinsically connected to you. Therefore, it's better to take time and decide the things you want to achieve in your life seriously before planning to work on something.

Once you are sure on the things you wish to achieve in the coming years, you can next follow up with the procedures below to manage your time for your personal goals, relationships and professional life. Remember that everyone have their own interest and priorities different than every other person. So, the approach to use your time will vary depending on your goals. 

1. Set your goals and their priorities. This will help you knowing which tasks you have to set more time on and which ones to less. 

2. The second thing is to mark all the steps for each goal. You probably may not be knowing about whole process required and that's fine. We learn and discover the needed things through process itself many times. But for the sake of clarity you should keep a track of things you know about the goal. That brings a clarity while working on goals step by step. 

3. Once you have a list with goals and priorities, next you have to analyse how long time each of them will take to achieve. Remember to give enough or more than enough time to each of your goals. 

Doing this is important to carefully understand which goals are short term and which are long term. This approach is helpful in determining which goals you shall be working on frequently and which ones on alternatively in order to achieve them timely. 

4. Next comes is looking at how your daily schedule looks like. It can be busy or normal depending upon your work, social and personal responsibilities. You have to optimize the time where you stay free or doing things for your entertainment because that is possibly the time you shall be working on your goals. For people with more busy schedule it may be needed to cut off or find alternatives to the a few from their daily schedule to get the time to work on their goals. 

5. Once you are ready with all the 4 steps mentioned above, you can initiate assigning your vacate time to the tasks referring to your goals. 

For long term or bigger goals, keep the process slow and smooth. Learn all the beginner level tasks gradually as per your routine for the same and go through the process completely. It is a good approach to work on long term goals slowly in the beginning because it is necessary to understand the things from root and understanding the process itself takes time. 

On the other hand for short term or medium term goals, you can work on it regular basis or more frequent with keeping focus on little achievements and then taking it to the intermediate and then to advanced. 

Here are some examples of how am I assigning my time for goals: 

I. I have planned to read different type of books this year for developing my intellectual knowledge so I do read books on weekends and sometime on week days as well after my regular works. 

II. The other one is that I eventually want to write a book and publish it. So I write 2 to 3 articles every month for improving my writing skills. I do give time every other week to create some content that can be helpful to people. 

6. The next and the most important step is, to take actions on your time management plan and start working on it. You have to gradually bring that into habit for getting success on each of your goals. 

It's important to keep in mind two things while you work on goals: 

I. The process is the one that ultimately matters. All the mistakes, learnings and findings comes from the process only. So the more your actions shall be oriented toward the process, the more relatively you will achieve the real fulfilment and internal happiness. 

II. Have faith and patience. Situations may encounter where you may feel stuck, face failures or get delayed in completing intermediate processes due to ups and downs. Remember to stay reliable in such times and do not give up. Consistency is the only thing that will take you to the success.
