As you must have been through the scenarios when we really wish to do something but when it comes to step out and take action, we end up excusing and manage to escape from there. In reality, we lack courage and motivation to go for it. This procrastination gradually takes over you by first distracting your mindset with irrelevant excuses and keeps you in the same old loop you need to get off.

This article will explain 6 useful guidelines to implement from 2024 to reflect your passionate self into picture to initiate your journey to dreams. Let's go through each of those one by one to find out how it can transform your life.

1. List out the qualities of person you want to be

At first, you should have a clear cut reference to who you want to become. And to be more specific on that, just keep all the qualities or skills in the list to be sorted with what you are going to pursue this year.

For example, suppose you are inspired with people on digital platforms and want to be a social media influencer, the list may look like:

  • Be confident and communicative.
  • Best at creating digital content.
  • Familiar with fashion and attire.
  • Upto date with social media trends.
  • Able to handle trolls and criticism.

Once you have the list, you can start working on it as soon as possible. You can prioritise them accordingly, start learning, practice what is needed, research and educate yourself in the same area and so on.

2. Start without any delay

A wide step to begin your journey is action. Being through step one, now you know what you have to do, so just start acting without any delay. And if you say that you are not sure how to start or you need to make a perfect plan to start, again, you are postponing the action that probably might keep you in the same old loop.

Many people do not take action because they believe the same: “they have not planned or they are not ready or they don’t have resources to start”. This perception holds them back from stepping in to the path of their dreams.

In real, you don’t need to be fully prepared to start on something. You can start with whatever you know, even if you think that is not enough. You can start doing whatever you can because starting itself is a big step. Even if you know nothing, just start researching on it and learn. With digital platforms like youtube, chat gpt and other tools, you can always get guidance and information on almost everything.

You just need to set up your mind and take whatsoever action on it. Through the process you will figure things out, learn and lead. But what is most important for now is to initiate things and commit to them. Start don’t need to be rough and tough, big or impactful. Just any step taken toward your resolution is what accounts.

3. Bring your actions into routine

After you started working on your resolutions, you now know more about it than before. You already have stepped from thought to action, and with those actions you must have realised what are the next tasks you need to accomplish to follow the process.

Let’s say you decided to be a content creator and you already have created an Instagram page for that and posted some content. You have researched on that and now you know what type of contents you should create and how often you should post to grow your page.

And so the next step is very obvious, make a routine to work on your page and follow the same. It could be something like:

  • Decide number of contents you will post every week/month.
  • Check on your everyday routine and find what time you can work on creating contents.
  • Decide how often you will check on trends for target audience.

Next you need to follow the schedules regularly and be sure to consistently work on the tasks like posting regularly as per routine. Why this is important because action you have taken but keeping that action active is crucial for growth. If you post content whenever you wished and not in routine, chances are high that your interest will fade away as there is no frequency and so no habit formation. That’s why bringing action into routine is important.

4. Read your resolutions frequently

How do you wish to see yourself fulfilling resolutions and why do you want that? Write it down in a diary and read it frequently. It is a simple task that contributes to the long term commitment for your dreams. Every time you read it, you realise why your commitment is important specially in hard times when you are not motivated enough to follow routine and feel like quitting.

Often we get so into a lot of stuffs everyday that we manage to do attend all of them but forget the reason behind it. Reading your base reminds you of the reason for efforts you are putting in. So it makes you more focused and connects you entirely to work and action.

So why not take privilege of this simple stuff and boost your inspiration and motivation!

5. Be a better version of yourself!

Everyone is good and unique in their own way and so are you. But that goodness is often wrapped up with the habits you have formed over the years. Or, to be on point: with the bad habits you have been pursuing for a long time. And probably you are also aware of this.We all know some of our bad qualities which has blocked the otherwise path we could follow to become a better person or a better version of us.

We often validate such bad habits with the fact that this is who we are and how that is required or are a part of our nature. That’s fine upto some point as no one can be perfect or someone with no bad qualities at all. The point is you should be taking care if you are not including the habits that are worth changing in that perspective for validating them and continue doing.

Do a check on your present bad habits and think how can your life look like and what is the outcome if you quit or replace them with a good one. If you reach a conclusion that you can achieve great results, look a better person with qualities you actually want, you should cut them off and be a better version of yourself.

With this you will become more confident about yourself and the things you want in life. A better person handles things in a better way and can achieve more with better habits.

6. Be Confident while talking

How you present yourself does matter in growth. If you feel confident and see yourself as a valuable person, the people around you will perceive you as a valuable person too. If you are discussing about your goals, business or dreams with someone, put it confidently.

And being confident doesn’t mean you will brag about it or exaggerate stories or keep talking about your achievements all the time. Whether you speak little or more about your plans, problems, idea, confusion or anything, keep it with confidence.

Confidence is not only limited to conversations and talks, it should reflect in your actions too. That often comes gradually when you continue working on your goals. As you learn new things, discover what you didn’t know before, accomplish little things, your belief will be stronger and will auto reflect in your attitude.

But the necessary approach to confidence is you have to believe in yourself even when you are starting new and don’t know anything. When you are attempting despite of not being sure about the results, or even when you fail at something; be confident in such times that you will figure it out if not this way, some other way. That’s how you will learn from your own journey.
